Well you will be glad to know that the fishes three have returned safely from their adventure to Porto Cristo Nova, Mallorca.
We had a bit of a dodgy start as our flight was delayed by an hour and a half, and it took an hour in the cab to get from Palma to Porto Cristo. By the time we got to our apartments we were in need of more vodka (the drinks wed had at the airport having worn off!), so once wed checked in (after skidding down the wet slope into reception in a fit of giggles and screams as we tried desperately to not fall over!), we dumped the cases in our room, had a quick look round the apartment and then headed for the bar. Triple vodkas (gotta love the measures in Spain!) and yucky green stuff ahoy!!
Rather than bore you with a day by day account of the holiday though I will give you my most memorable moments from the week:
- Waking up Tuesday morning to hear Becky and Ali discussing whether Ali had actually said Dumb Fuck to Bec when she woke up (I think shed actually only said good morning or something!)
- Me nearly falling over in the pool (there was a slope), on the beach (I trod on something sharp) and walking into the patio doors (whilst sober).
- Monkey making sandcastles and chilling on the balcony (Ali can explain that one!)
- Me setting fire to the Prince Biscuits packet with a candle by accident, when drunk.
- Becky dropping a whole bottle of wine on the marble floor when we all had raging hangovers.
- Becky setting fire to her jumper whilst lighting a cigarette.
- Me getting chased by a cockroach (seriously, Ali and Bec had run past it and when I tried it just starting charging towards me!)
- Ali bringing a cockroach into the apartment (it was hiding in Beckys beach towel) which resulted in 5 minutes of hysteria and shouts from me of Stamp on it!!
- Going to the Ocean Disco Bar and being the only people in there.
- Getting charged 18 Euros for 3 vodka and sprites in above bar so staying for one drink and not leaving until we had finished the complimentary crisps and peanuts..even though they werent very nicethe drinks were expensive enough so we thought wed get our moneys worth!
- Going into Porto Cristo on the Death Train which was driven by the local cigar smoking drugs baron (well thats what he looked like anyway)
- The bizarre formation boat and out of tune violin playing in Cueves del Drach (Dragon Caves to the rest of us!)
- Lamumba drinks (at least I think that was what they were called) they were yummy and they had brandy and chocolate milkshake in themyum!
- The annoying couple who were on the ground floor that assumed that it gave them the right to play their music really loudly by the pool without acknowledging the fact that there were other people there.
- Us being really grown up when we went back to our room and playing Enrique Iglasias really loudly and singing along really badly as revenge on the above couple (well she did walk around in her thong bikini bottomsrevenge had to be ours, it was too distressing!)
- Me getting drunk and stroppy and storming back to the room to declare to Ali and Bec that I wasnt drunk (wed had 3 or 4 bottles of wine and some vodkascant even remember how many!)I was most definitely drunk!
There are probably loads more things than that that will come flooding back to me when I get the photos back tomorrow. If there are any that are not too embarrassing then I may scan them in and put them on public display herewe will have to see!
So now its back to reality and rain, tube strikes and job redundanciesboo hiss! Still one piece of good news I did get is that the new addition to the family that is due in January (bruvs baby no 3) is a girl there is already my 5 year old niece and 15 month old nephew. My niece has apparently had a look through the book of baby names and decided that the baby will be called Ada! Cant see my bro agreeing to that one somehow!
