Is that the weekend over already?? Where did it go??!!
So what did Fairy do I hear you all cry.well.
On Saturday Star, Moon, Ikie, me and a bijllion other people in all manner of school uniforms, pe kits, and men in Brownie Guide uniforms, converged on Clapham Common for School Fieldsan open air event of DJs and 80s pop acts such as ABC, Heaven 17 and Limahl, and not forgetting of course icons such as Suggs, Keith Cheggers Chegiwn and George, Zippy, Bungle and Jeffrey (from Rainbow fame) lip-synching to I will survive and YMCA very surreal!
Ali and I ate toffee apples, we all drank beer, and I snogged a man in a skirt!! Well actually it was a kilt, but it was still a bit bizarre!! Now we just have to wait and see whether he calls me or not!
Sunday though probably has to be the most exciting of the days because Ali and I got a bit lairy with ourselves and finally did it..we defrosted the freezer!! Yes its true, after many months of discussing it, adding it to lists and not doing it, yesterday we armed ourselves with hairdryers, a screwdriver, and a cheese slice (best not to ask!) and removed a small iceberg from our freezerBe freeee food in the second drawerbe freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Last night I went to our local theatre to see my nieces dancing show. My mum and I were crying from laughing so much, but it was also amazing to see how 5 year olds can get up on stage in front of a full auditorium and not show the slightest bit of fear. I remember having THE worst nerves before we used to do our dancing shows, still I guess its true that you do worry about stuff more as you get older. Seeing it though, and watching the senior class (people my age and upwards) has made me think about getting back into it. I used to love dancing and only really gave it up because of my teacher at the time and the way she started treating us and pushing us out. Of course I gave all the excuses that with uni and work and everything I didnt have time, but I could have made the time and I guess the truth was that I was too scared to start again somewhere new (Id had the same teacher from the age of 8 to 20 when I stopped).
I always knew that I missed it but I never really realised how much until last night when I saw how much they were enjoying being up on stage. I remembered the buzz you get at the end of a routine when the audience are applauding and youre feeling chuffed with yourself because you got all the moves right.
